The Personal Challenge of Doing Things Differently

In the last issue of Leverage Points, we quoted Peter Senge as saying, "To transform how our larger systems work, we need to get a critical mass of people doing things differently." But what enables people to do things differently? And what facilitates organizations to change? One answer is—the fundamental "way" we think.

How might our lives change if we approached challenges from a new perspective?

Dianne Collins and Alan Collins, forum speakers at the 2003 Pegasus Conference this October, are offering a series of engaging and accessible teleconference programs called QuantumThink® Mastermind—Tapping into Genius, to be held over the next five months to explore this theme and build our learning community.

Each program takes place over a 12-day period and combines individual learning, group coaching, and interactive dialogues in a private Pegasus bulletin board. The program includes:

• Listening privately to the QuantumThink AudioCoach, ten 20-minute distinctions in new thinking, one audio per day (available in audio cassette or in online streaming using Windows Media, downloadable in MP3).

• Participating in four one-hour group teleconference coaching calls with Dianne Collins and Alan Collins.

• Connecting with other participants by sharing your thoughts and "quantum occurrences" on a private Pegasus online bulletin board.

Two 12-day programs will be scheduled before the 2003 Pegasus Conference, Changing Our Organizations to Change the World: Systems Thinking in Action, and two following the conference. Each will have a different theme germane to current events. The first program, “Experiencing Certainty in an Uncertain World,” begins on July 15 and concludes on July 25. Other themes and program dates will be available at the conclusion of the first session.

Dates for upcoming programs:

• July 15–July 25, with coaching calls from 12:00-1:00 p.m. EDT on 7/15, 7/18, 7/22, 7/25. Experiencing Certainty in an Uncertain World.

• September 16–September 26, with coaching calls from 12:00-1:00 p.m. EDT on 9/16, 9/19, 9/23, 9/26. Theme to be announced.

• October 28–November 7, with coaching calls from 12:00-1:00 p.m. EST on 10/28, 10/31, 11/4, 11/7. Theme to be announced.

• Dates to be announced for the fourth program

Cost:
$450.00 (initial fee), includes your choice of the QuantumThink AudioCoach in audio tapes or online audio streaming. The audio streaming version uses Windows Media Player and can be downloaded in MP3.

Additional program: Initial fee plus $200.00
All three programs: Initial fee plus $300.00

How to register for and participate in the July 15-July 25 program

Registration is a two-part process. To participate in Experiencing Certainty in an Uncertain World, you will be registering for the QuantumThink MasterMind program, and you will be registering for the Pegasus QuantumThink private online bulletin board, as follows:

Step 1) Register for the program.

This link takes you to the QuantumThink Store to register. When you arrive there, scroll down the page until you see the Order button for QuantumThink MasterMind. When you click to order you will be given the option to select the audiocassettes or audio streaming version of the QuantumThink AudioCoach distinctions in new thinking.

Within 24 hours after you register, you will receive a welcome email with all program materials, logistics and pertinent telephone numbers for the group teleconference calls.

Step 2) Register for the private online bulletin board.

1. Go to the Pegasus Forums (bulletin board) home page.

2. Click on the "Register" link in the menu at the upper right just below "Pegasus Communications Community Forums."

3. Please read the Forums Policy statement and if you agree, click the "Agree" button.

4. On the "Bulletin Board Registration" page, enter a username and your e-mail address. The user name should be at least 6 characters.

We will e-mail your password to the address you have provided. Each time you come to the forum, you will need your username and password in order to participate.

5. Under the QuantumThink® MasterMind Dialogue section of the Pegasus bulletin board, you will see one or more forums. These are accessible only by authorized individuals. On the next business day after you register to use the private bulletin board, your authorization will be complete and you will be able to click on the appropriate QuantumThink forum, enter your username and password, and participate by viewing and posting messages.
