PDF Rights

Pegasus is now offering a variety of articles and books in PDF format. The price listed for a PDF item in the shopping cart is for individual use of the PDF. This means that you are permitted to have up to three copies of the PDF for your personal use on your own computers (office, home, laptop), and you are permitted to make a paper copy for your own use.

If you intend to make paper copies of PDF articles to distribute to other people at work, in a class, or for any other use, you must obtain additional rights from Pegasus Communications (see next section below). Distribution of any PDF file to other persons for use on another computer is not permitted, nor can you place an “individual use” PDF on a network to provide access to other users. However, electronic site licenses for multiple users are available at very affordable rates. E-mail us at sitelicense@pegasuscom.com for details.

PDF Articles
To make paper copies of a PDF article for distribution to others, you must purchase rights through the Pegasus shopping cart. For your convenience, the link to purchase rights to make paper copies appears at the end of the description of every PDF article that is for sale in the Pegasus shopping cart. The charge is $2.50 per copy. You must have already purchased OR be concurrently purchasing the original PDF article (all original PDF articles are $6.00) in order to purchase additional rights in this manner.

Detailed instructions for purchasing articles and rights

1) In the Shopping Cart on the Pegasus web site, locate the description page of the PDF article (review the list of available PDFs) for which you want to purchase the right to make paper copies.
2) Click on the “Add to Cart ”button to add the original PDF to the cart. (If you do not wish to purchase rights, you can purchase the PDF at this point by clicking on the “Check Out” button.)
3) Next, click the “Back” button on your browser to return to the description page.
4) Scroll to the end of the description and click on the “Click Here” link.
5) When you see the Rights Purchase page for the article, click on the “Add to Cart” button—DO NOT adjust the quantity.
6) Look for the Rights Purchase item for the related article in the “Shopping Cart.” Now change the “Quantity" adjacent to the item to reflect the number of paper copies you wish to make.
7) Click “Update Order” to recalculate the total charge. Repeat these steps in order to purchase additional articles and rights.

NOTE: If you have received the article as part of your subscription to The Systems Thinker, you do not need to purchase the PDF article again in order to purchase rights to make paper copies.

PDF Books
The price of PDF books and booklets in the shopping cart is for individual use. This means that you are permitted to have up to three copies of the PDF for your personal use on your own computers (office, home, laptop), and you are permitted to make a paper copy for your own use. You may loan your paper copy to another person just as you would loan a regular printed book.

Please respect copyright laws regarding distribution of our PDF articles, books, and booklets.

•You CAN print a copy for your own use.
•You CAN loan your personal printed copy to another individual.
•You CAN make the PDF item available to multiple people within your organization by purchasing a site license. Please contact us at sitelicense@pegasuscom.com for details.
•You CANNOT place a PDF item purchased for individual use on a network for others to access.
•You CANNOT print copies and distribute them to others without paying additional fees.
• You CANNOT forward a copy of your PDF file to another individual or organization.
