Collaboration: The Human Face of Systems Thinking Whether we see it or not, collaboration is central to all of the work
we do. Our creativity and productivity almost always depend on others--not
just on the members of our immediate team, but on elaborate, cross-boundary
networks and human systems beyond our imagination. In this delightfully
interactive presentation, Peter introduces an exercise that illustrates
how, when you identify and reflect on your networks, the networks
get stronger--something that has positive, practical consequences.
Use this presentation with your own team or with a client organization
to raise their awareness of the necessity of healthy social systems. ALSO, get Peter's latest book: Other

Rocking the Boat Without Going Overboard: How "Tempered Radicals" Can Steer a Course for Change Organizations serious about creating
adaptive, future-oriented workplaces must learn to value the contributions
of "tempered radicals," those
everyday leaders who act as crucial sources of new ideas, alternative
perspectives, and organizational learning. While their differences
often put them at odds with the mainstream organizational culture,
Meyerson describes how these agents of change have become adept at
balancing conformity with ingenuity to "rock the boat" without
losing their own footing. She offers stories, drawn from a variety
of organizations, that at once give heart to the tempered radicals
among us and provide guidance for organizations interested in nurturing
the kinds of emergent, grassroots activities that lead to meaningful
change. •

In his stirring conference
presentation, Van Jones declared that we are witnessing the dawn
of the Age of Solutions and described how he is amplifying his impact
by building on the success of local initiatives. Taking a systems
approach to both poverty and climate change, Van is leading a movement
to connect the people who most need work with the work that most
needs doing. Although we are not at liberty to sell copies of the
entire presentation, we are pleased to make this selection of excerpts
from the talk available and invite you to share his message with
others. •

Presencing: Leading from the Future As It Emerges In his riveting conference presentation, Otto shared a "sensing and presencing" process that allows leaders to anticipate and realize future potential for their organizations and to generate positive results from disruptive patterns of change. Consider these related resources for exploring how "Theory U" can help you deal with complex change even when you may not yet fully know the problem, the solution, or the key players required to be successful in a given situation. •
