1. How do I submit a book proposal to Pegasus?
Answer: Contact our editors at editorial@pegasuscom.com. Send us as much information as you can about the project: intended audience/market, purpose of the book, preliminary table of contents, sample chapters, an analysis of the project's unique, compelling features, analysis of how the project compares with existing books, and your thoughts about the possible production values of the project (number of pages, hardcover vs. softcover, whether there will be illustrations, etc.). 2. How do I submit an idea for an Innovations in Management Series volume?

EVALUATION/EXAMINATION, DESK, AND REVIEW COPY REQUESTS

7. Does Pegasus provide EVALUATION/EXAMINATION copies to educators and trainers for books that it publishes?
Answer:
Pegasus offers a free 30-day evaluation period to educators and trainers who are considering a book for adoption. Please send a credit card number along with your request; we'll only bill you if the book isn't returned at the end of the trial period or if it is returned in unsaleable condition. To request an examination copy, send a fax on appropriate letterhead to Examination Copy Request at 1-781-894-7175. Top

8. Does Pegasus provide DESK copies to instructors for books that it publishes? Answer: Pegasus provides one free copy for instructors who order a minimum of 10 copies of an adopted title through the bookstore. To order desk copies, use campus letterhead and send an e-mail to Desk Copy Request at reviewcopy@pegasuscom.com, or fax to 1-781-894-7175. All desk copy requests must be accompanied by either a copy of your bookstore's purchase order indicating quantity and the date of order or a copy of your requisition to the bookstore. Top

9. Does Pegasus provide REVIEW copies to book reviewers for books that it publishes? Answer: Pegasus will send you a review copy of one of our books for review in a journal, newsletter, or other media. Please mail or fax your request on appropriate letterhead and include the following information:

• Name of the journal, newsletter, or other media
• Title and author of the book
• Where the book should be sent and to whom

Purchasing and Distributing Articles

. How can I purchase an article published in The Systems Thinker?
Answer: To browse articles available for purchase in PDF format, go to our web site www.thesystemsthinker.com, scroll down until you see "Purchase articles," and "Click here" to see a list of PDFs. The price of an individual article is $6.00.

To search for an article by title or author, click "Search author/article database," click the link "Go to the search page," and type in the author or title. You will be taken to the article's description page. Click on the title, and if the article is available for purchase online, you will be taken to our shopping cart. Top

11. Can I distribute copies of an article from The Systems Thinker?
Answer: You cannot distribute PDFs of an article, but you can distribute paper copies. You must first own a copy of the article (see #10 for instructions). Then you can purchase rights through the Pegasus shopping cart. For your convenience, the link to purchase rights to make paper copies appears at the end of the description of every PDF article that is for sale in the Pegasus shopping cart. The charge is $2.50 per copy.

12. How can I purchase an article from The Systems Thinker that is not available for sale through your web site?
Answer: Articles not available in PDF format can be obtained in paper format for a fee by e-mailing permissions@pegasuscom.com.

13. Can I distribute copies of an article from Leverage Points®?
Answer: Each issue of Leverage Points can be freely forwarded by e-mail in its entirety without written permission from Pegasus Communications. Any content in the actual Leverage Points issue can be reproduced or excerpted for another publication with written permission from Pegasus Communications. The full-length Face-to-Face interviews can be freely distributed as paper copies or forwarded as links with written e-mail permission from Pegasus Communications. To obtain permission, e-mail permissions@pegasuscom.com.

Any articles from The Systems Thinker that are linked to Leverage Points will be available for free for three months. During those three months, readers will not be charged for forwarding the article link to other people; however, if readers want to distribute paper copies of the article, they need to pay a right-to-copy fee of $2.50 per copy. After three months, the articles will be de-linked from Leverage points and made available for sale on the Pegasus web site. Top

15. How do I get a site license to The Systems Thinker?
Answer: An organization site license to The Systems Thinker is an agreement that entitles an organization to receive 10 issues of The Systems Thinker (a one-year subscription) in PDF format and to place them on ONE intranet for use by staff of an organization. If you are planning to order more than 9 print copies, you might want to consider purchasing a site license. Organization members can then read summaries of each article, view each issue instantly on screen using the free Adobe Reader software (we recommend the most recent full version), and/or print a paper copy. The cost of an annual site license is $1,000.

We also offer site licenses for back volumes of The Systems Thinker for Volumes 10 through 18, which you can purchase in PDF format on a CD-Rom (for more information visit www.thesystemsthinker.com).

21. How are The Systems Thinker and Leverage Points delivered?
Answer:
The Systems Thinker is delivered in PDF format by e-mail. The issue is viewable using the free Acrobat Reader (we recommend 6.0 or higher; it is downloadable from Adobe for free). Each issue arrives mid-month. Leverage Points is delivered at the end of each month by e-mail. Top

22. How long does it take to begin receiving issues of The Systems Thinker after I subscribe?
Answer: Subscriptions are processed immediately and, depending on where you fall in the cycle, you can expect to receive your first issue in 2–8 weeks. Top

23. What is your cancellation policy for The Systems Thinker?
Answer:
If you are not satisfied with The Systems Thinker, you can cancel your subscription at any time and receive a pro-rated refund or credit for the un-used portion. Top

24. Are claims accepted, and do they have to be submitted within a certain period?
Answer:
