How People Are Using When a Butterfly Sneezes: A Guide for Helping Kids Explore Interconnections in Our World Through Favorite Stories

• Some teachers are reading "Butterfly" at their school book clubs, discussing it together, applying the learnings, and integrating them in their curricula. They report that the book has helped improve student literacy as well as systems thinking ability.

• After September 11th, Linda received calls from people asking which stories can help children understand the terrorist crisis. She points to Dr. Seuss's "The Butter Battle Book" and "The Sneetches" (for grades 9-11), which illustrate the dynamic of fear between people. Naming the fear makes it less frightening for children.

• A project director for the National Peace Foundation in
Azerbaijan is using "Butterfly" to teach children critical
